Plan 5 – Week 11

  • Sep 21-27

Plan has gone very well.  I feel I’m running well, better than last year. All good  – feeling upbeat and optimistic!

This could have been a negative week as I had some medical issues but I think I have made progress with those and they did not affect my race today.

I reckon I have found the answer – the ‘back of legs’ thing definitely comes on when carrying a heavy weight on my back and possibly during some of my weighted exercises.  I found that walking 2 miles to the station from my son’s house, carrying my backpack on my front, did not cause any discomfort. I did not have it at all for the race today.  My other medical thing was hearing loss/dizziness/nausea mid-week and I have an appointment on Tuesday to check.  It only lasted a few hours and I’ve had it before (?? Meniere’s disease? – not sure and should not self-diagnose!) Anyway, overall I’m feeling fit and fine and fingers crossed that will last for HHM unlike the last two years.

SUMMARY

INJURIES/NIGGLES 🚑

back of legs

COACH

Sunday’s time was fantastic and so pleased to hear you are running well and confidence is high. That despite having a few hurdles to overcome which I think you have managed very well. Makes sense about the back of the legs as well. Often it’s things away from the running that cause us the biggest problems, for me sitting at my desk for too long is the main cause of my niggles. Really well done Sarah.
