Hastings is my local parkrun and I rarely venture further in truth, mainly due to work commitments. It’s a wonderful atmosphere with anywhere in the region of 250-400 runners taking part.
It’s pretty much a pancake flat route apart from a couple of very small ramps to clamber onto the top prom. It can get quite congested at the start of the race so if you are looking for that elusive PB, be sure to avoid starting too far back in the crowds.
The main challenge, given the seafront route is the wind, which occasionally relents but is often been the frustration of regulars attempts to produce a fast time. Keep an eye on the weather forecast and you’ll often see some quicker runners appear in town when the wind is elsewhere.
Parking is generally quite good with a nearby car park (it does get full as 9am approaches) and there are toilets nearby. Grosvenor Gardens offers the perfect location for your warm jog and running drills.
