Join a Running Club

Joining a running club can be a daunting prospect for a beginner or even an experienced runner. The notion that running clubs are only for serious fast athletes is a myth. Most clubs have a wide range of ages and abilities.

There are so many benefits to joining a running club. The opportunity to make new friends is right at the top of that list. Most clubs are extremely welcoming to new members and will make sure you are well looked after and put in the right groups.

Most clubs will have coaches or run leaders that can help with advice and guidance on technique or any running related query.

Running clubs are not for everyone and you can even join online communities such as “Lonely Goat” or the “No Club Running Club” (I’ve not made that up, that really does exist). Even these clubs allow you to feel part of a community.
