Thank you for listening. I think this is a good idea. Just give yourself a bit of a break from those long runs, especially when it’s cold and dark. You’ll still be training at a similar level, but we’ll cap the long runs at 2 hours and you won’t have to do them every week.
Let’s see if we can improve your speed slightly.
How are you getting on with the strength workouts? This is the best opportunity for you to improve. As you can see from your own ratings, strength and flexibility are the lowest scoring. Imagine how good you would be if you improved those!!
I know they can be tricky at first but the exercises just require a bit of practice really.
In terms of the plan, it’s business as normal. One speed work, ideally track on a Monday. Your Wednesday run will be more varied. Some weeks it will be a long run, some weeks a tempo session.
I’ve put some other races in there. A few of us are going down to do the Chichester 10k at Goodwood on the 1st February and I know you like it there. So that might be a good one to do.
Then there is Paddock Wood again, although did you say you found that one boring? I can always take that out if need be.
I’ll finish by saying I still feel like you’re running really well at the moment, which is brilliant, keep up the great work.
