These next 3 weeks are the peak stage of this plan. So if you work hard for these 3 weeks it’s when you have the most significant impact on your marathon time. Why so early in the plan? Because the closer to Paris we get we just want to ease back a little and not hammer the miles too hard. This also relates to efforts. This weeks sessions is the toughest one on the plan. So know if you get this done, the speed work will get progressively easier from next week as we put more focus on endurance. Hopefully that will help with motivation. Keep up the great work Andy. Any problems let me know.

Always fun to train in a group. Ask for help if unsure on your technique on the exercises.

Couldn’t get a place in normal boxing/circuits class. So did a 50minute HIIT class instead. Full body strength and cardio in there as well. Worked really hard and a good substitute I think.
Sounds like a good switch up. Well done Andy

Another big session here. This is where the magic happens, work hard, hit those paces and you’re going to make some serious gains.

Wasn’t sure how this was going to go, legs felt a bit heavy in warm up and tired after the race at weekend. But actually really enjoyed the structure of this one. All segments were on point and felt tough but achievable. Second set of both 5mins runs, I actually found slightly more comfortable than the first, legs felt fired up after the 10x1mins. Really happy with this one tonight 😊
Superb. Well done Andy. Big session that so glad you enjoyed it.

8 x 100m Strides

Zone 7: 3k

Keep the 40 mins easy and don’t forget those strides. Without them you won’t improve and will fall short of your weekly targets.

Did this in the morning while Sarah was at the gym. Also we’ve got a day off work today as going to Manchester for couple days. Legs felt a bit tired after the intervals last night. But felt like a good recovery run, and strides felt strong at the end – once I got the legs working fast!
Well done Andy, yeah I saw you both ran early and thought you must be off work. Hope you have a great time in Manchester.

Time to make sure your fuelling and hydration is on point. 30-60g of carbs per hour. The longer the run goes on the tougher it will get.

Woke up Sunday feeling absolutely drained. Several bad nights sleep being away, and a lot of driving on Saturday. Tried to talk myself into doing a bit of a run but decided to opt for rest instead as was just too tired :(
I respect that decision. In the grand scheme of the plan it was probably the right move. Still time to catch up too and finish strongly. Hope the weekend overall was fun though. Thanks for the feedback too.
