Decent session this!! A good all round workout, working all the key muscle group and the fundamental movement patterns.
Lots of hills this week potentially. Keep Tuesday steady and use it more to focus on form ahead of Sunday’s race. Wednesday should always be an “easy run”, so just bear that in mind when choosing the group. My easy run pace is currently around 5:45 per km on the flat, over 6:00 on the hills. We definitely get more benefit doing our easy runs at a lower heart rate. Dan W and Martin both running in the 2nd group now, so that would be advice. Hopefully with Rye coming up they choose a flatter run this week.

Hills can really build your strength as well as improve your running form. This session is tough but will really help you make big gains. Use the downhill as a light recovery jog, so exact recovery times can be flexible.
8 x 100 metre Strides (RPE: 8)
60 second recoveries
A chance to really focus on exaggerating perfect running form. Best done before a session or after an easy run. Not a sprint. CLICK HERE for more details.
Likely your heart rate will climb as you run up the hills, so don’t worry too much about drifting into Zone 3 for the hills, try and keep the rest in Zone 2.

WU is key. CD not as important, but if you have done a fast 10 miles it’s recommended. Also if going for a quick one including drills and strides (4 bonus pts) is worth while too.
Knowing your goal pace beforehand is important and ensuring you don’t go off too quick is crucial. Obviously that will be determined by the elevation of the route. But I’m always happy to discuss pacing strategies and race tactics beforehand.
Good Luck!! You got this 💪
