Great session. I arrived without any enthusiasm, expecting it to be a chore and an unpleasant effort. As soon as we had run the first eight minutes I felt really good and felt better as it went on. By the end my mood had completely changed for the better.
Running into the wind on the way out was fine but the return leg with the wind behind felt great.
I feel I’m getting stronger and can move my legs a bit quicker for a sustained period.
My average pace was only 6:34/ mile which is more or less target pace for the session overall, but I was well under six minute mile pace for the last two minutes.
Average HR was 141 75% in zone 4 and 9% in zone 5 so the effort was there. Should be good for Saturday and next Tuesday.
I’ll take your advice on adding weight to wall sits in the near future. I think I could get through the burn but might struggle to stand up at the end.
And this is why we do it, is it not? The fitness, the PBs, they’re great, but going out there and running with such a good group of people, changes our mindset. I saw a really good video on instagram just the other day which talked about the importance of surrounding ourselves with positive people, and how that can change our own mood. Exactly what you’ve done here. And well done on executing such a good session as well. Great work Conal.
