My approach is simple. Calculate the training points you averaged on the last plan and earn more. Progressive overload in action. 119 was the last plan. The target here is 125, although I haven’t factored in the days off, so we might need to discuss that. Were you not to train on any of those dates, we would only averaged 112 pts across this plan, which would obviously be a slightly regression. But we can find a solution I’m sure.
I’ve put Battle 10k in as the main race and lots of sessions which will help prepare you for that. Each parkrun I’ve put in, is pacers day. I think Saturday proved running with the 21 group right now and finishing strongly can deliver a new PB in the right conditions.
The two sessions are complemented by two easy runs which I feel you are now running at the right speed/effort and a couple of S&C sessions at home.
If you average 125pts across the next 12 weeks then we should see further improvement in your 5k time!!!
Keep smashing it Glenn.
