Such good variety in this schedule now with the different types of cross training. We might only be running twice a week but there’s 5 days of cardio in there, along with a circuits class. That’s fantastic. Keeping you busy, active but without overdoing things. It feels like a good blend right now. Keep up the great work Su. Any issues let me know

ASPT

Always fun to train in a group. Ask for help if unsure on your technique on the exercises.

Not feeling it today, interview went badly, fence blown down when I got home. Maybe I’ll catch up, maybe I won’t. I’ll try and get my act together for tomorrow!
😢 Hope you are ok? Always hear to listen if you want to offload on someone. Tough when ASPT is cancelled too and sometimes good just to take a little break. I know a really good fencer if you don’t have one (01424 446961) He’s an old fella who can hardly move but somehow does a great job still. Did a neighbours (also a Hastings Runner) recently and they were happy. Everyday is a new opportunity 🧡

30 Mins Elliptical

30 Mins Elliptical

Zone 2: Easy

A good way to boost cardio whilst reducing the risk of injury. The elliptical can tone muscles and improve endurance whilst being gentle on your joints. You might find you have to work quite hard to get your heart rate in Zone 2.

Zone 2: Easy

A great form of cross trainer for us runners. Keep that heart rate in Zone 2. You might feel like RPE is higher, as it’s a tough exercise, but a good opportunity to really improve your aerobic engine without the heavy impact of running.

Elliptical and stairs ✅, slow by methodical, intermediate levels. Stretches done before bed, from yesterday. Thanks for support, but for my plan would probably have given up again tonight. 🍊
Pleased to hear this. We all have tough spells but you are one of the strongest minded, most determined runners on the team. What you achieve with your issues is incredible, so remind yourself of that when it is tough, and be proud when you do overcome those negative thoughts. You got this Su 💪

A great way to get the heart pumping to some banging tunes. Have fun 😁

Spin, 54 mins, I tried to push harder and get HR up, but then I run the risk of injury and niggles on my right leg start. So I just do what I can. A big work out in the garden moving summer house pieces, 4 parts too heavy for me to be of use, so we wait the boys return at the weekend, as they are working up north. HR up to 134 with this 😆, there is no rhyme nor reason to what I do!
Well done Su, yeah don’t injury yourself trying to crank up that HR. No gains to be made there. How is Jamie getting on? I saw the photos from the weekend and he definitely looks older now (I mean that in a positive way).

60 Mins Run

Zone 2: Easy

I had to create a new session for you guys. Have fun. 60 mins easy is perfect in terms of training load.

Stretches before going out for a very easy bimble, but it did mean I stayed in z2! With more elevation. Jamie is good thanks, he’s become Jake’s apprentice and doing carpentry. Still going to gym, but not much running. Having said that, Saucony he did in 55 mins, and happy for me to sign him up for next year!
Zone 2. Nice. That’s lovely they are working together. Are they both away from home though? Hope you still get to see them enough. That’s still a good time and the fact he wants to run again is promising. Well done today Su

Zone 1: Recovery

Swimming is a great alternative to running and probably the best form of cross training. Have fun!

Saved swimming for Sunday and had a bit of a rest. But did arms plus a few, 8x exercises, 15 repsx3
That’s fine. Good to listen to the body and take a rest when needed.

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

7.5 miles in total ( 4.5 warm up / run down) and a fair effort at Parkrun. Followed by stretches. ☺️
Nicely done Su. Pretty sure that’s enough to hit the target for the week. Good to see the bimblers out in force.

“Rest days are key. Our body adapts and gets stronger when we rest & recovery. Have a good one!”

1hr swim, hitting my 90 lengths I wanted to do for serpentine training, building an appetite for a bimbler BBQ for David’s 50th! Jamie and Caitlin still a semi part of the gang came along too, so yes, I get to see the boys enough! They aren’t always away, but it makes it easier in the week when they are 😆.
Sounds like a lovely day. Great work on the swim. The last comment made me chuckle. Small doses is fine these days 😂
