COACH SUMMARY

Love where you’re at with your running and what you bring to the team. Your commitment to the plan is inspiring and no doubt rubs off on others, especially the Bimblers. Always makes me proud when someone does a solo efforts when they can’t make the group run.

Motivation would be my one concern with this new plan given we don’t have a goal or target to work towards, so let’s bear that in mind. It’s something we can introduce at any stage if need be.

You’ve got a fairly structured routine which seems to work well for you. I notice you put 2 hours availability on Wednesday although that is a day we generally have free, so not sure if you ever want to explore that. But given you do Tuesday with the team and Thursday with the Bimblers, I’m not sure how we could change that up.

It’s great fun for me working with you. It feels like you continue to make gains and some of your performances recently at races have stood out. Heathfield and Bewl, two particularly tough races. So it’s been evident in the results how well you are running.

We have two big races to kick start this plan as well, with the Pier to Pier and Barry Richards, so I look forward to seeing how you perform in those events.

Otherwise keep doing what you are doing. Keep being you. The team and my job is more fun for having you around. Thanks Ben.

SHORT TERM GOALS

Enjoy it

Not really sure – want to continue enjoying the running and any races I enter. I think my holiday will get in the way of races in September. There is Pier to Pier this week, which I would like to enjoy and complete without having to walk too much at the end. Barry Richards would be nice to do a decent time, but I know my current pace is about 5 mins away from my best at that race.

LONG TERM GOALS

Keep getting stronger

Just to continue to get stronger, get faster if possible, and to enjoy it.
