That felt a lot tougher than I wanted it to be. Got about a 30 second PB, but think I set myself up to do better than that as last week was a hilly 10k vs this flat one. It was incredibly hot (about 25 degrees at 9:30!) struggled with some hip and knee pain at the 7km mark which felt like slowed me down a bit. I know I need to take it as a win as itโs the second time Iโve ever ran this distance.
Congrats on your PB Abbi. The heat plays a massive part in running and would probably account for anywhere between 1-2 minutes in a 10k. Sorry to hear the hip and knee hurt, we just need to keep a little eye on that and if it persists we can tweak the schedule to include a bit more rest. Another excellent result though and a great week of training. Really well done. 5 weeks on the spin which means your first training star ๐ I feel a bit like a school teacher handing out stickers to year 1, but it seems to keep the team motivated ๐
