Keep the easy runs super easy. I always love the taper session. Normally goes down a treat and is light enough for race week. Speaking of the race, this has obviously been a short plan but hopefully enough to allow you to run a strong race. I think the most important thing pre race is to be happy with a pace you feel is sustainable for the whole race, factoring in conditions and elevation. I’m happy to discuss but you are probably better educated to know what that is than me given the altitude. Any issues let me know. Go smash it Ben.

Did 90 mins today to make up for missed run yest and end of last week. Felt ok but I know I have missed quite a few runs over these past few weeks so not expecting PB’s this Sunday
Well done Ben, you never know Sunday. It’s a chance to have a pop, but without that pressure or expectation. Which sometimes can help relax us and produce a good result.

A really good session to do the week of a half marathon. A chance to practice race pace at a lower volume and get some speed in the legs.

Sorry Simรณn, I did a version of this but a day late. I played 5aside Tuesday, circuits wed and this today. Was raining heavily so decided to hit the treadmill and got same pace in the legs. Now got a cold too, which is sod’s law. Should shake it off by Sunday tho
Football? Race week? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Glad you came through unscathed. Good to get some HM pace in the legs and hope the cold clears for Sunday. Good job Ben.

Stick to your goal pace early on and it should feel easy. Dig deep in those final 5km to achieve your goal. The biggest mistake you can make is getting swept along in the early stages and going off too fast.

Wanted sub-1.30 but considering how inconsistent I was with my training, was pleased enough with this time. Thanks for all your patience Simon
