Not very pleasant to start with as you probably noticed yourself 😂 but once we got off the seafront things definitely improved. I think the first 2 miles took a lot out of me and it took me the next 2 to recover a bit. I could hear Alice catching me on Cooden Drive and when she passed me that was what I needed to push that bit harder. I stayed just behind her until we got back on the seafront and then pushed up alongside her. We then pushed/pulled each other right through to the finish passing half a dozen others on the way. Not having run a hard 10 k for a little while I’m really pleased with my time and I know if the wind and rain had been kinder then I’d have definitely been under 50 minutes. Will wait to see what my time is as I ran a bit further to get the full 10k. Let’s see what Battle 10k brings next 🤞👍
Great running Andy. Given the conditions that was an excellent time. Sounds like the race was very enjoyable for those final few miles and it’s lovely to have someone in close proximity to help push you on and I know Alice was very grateful for your company.
Definitely lots of positives to take from this one and hopefully a confidence boost for what you can achieve at the Battle 10k in a few weeks time.
