Post RACE

Completed
Well no one can say I didn’t try. I was always going to be on the back foot against Kelly as she has only just run her PB and I was chasing a time I did in January and haven’t got close to recently. I’m happy with what I managed and as usual lately the wind wasn’t kind but it was the same for everyone. I am happy with my splits being pretty consistent and stride and cadence were also good. There were some fast runners there last night so to finish exactly halfway through the field was also quite satisfying.
Andy Alabaster
I think you’re running really well at the moment Andy. Probably as consistent as anyone in the team. Whilst not quite where we want to be in terms of the times, I’m still optimistic that will come. Sometimes it happens when you least expect it. Keep up that level in training and the effort in races and hopefully you’ll be getting your own 5k PB too. If it makes you feel any better I’ve been chasing mine since March. 19:28 as it stands. I’ve run 19:34 and 19:36 this year. So close. Effort in training has been high, especially Tuesday with 9k at around my 5k pace. Hoping that does the trick. Patience is key.
