I really didn’t enjoy that. I really really struggled. I’m disappointed with myself because I wanted to at least get 45 minutes but I didn’t have it in me today. I’m really struggling with my stomach again. Even now hours later and I’m in pain with it. I am pleased I beat last year which was always the mindset but I feel I go up and down with the running at the moment. I’m losing the enjoyment. 😞 Sorry trying not to sound like a moany arse again but a little disappointed in case you could tell!

Shorter distance races like 5k – 10k are tough. The actual experience of running them is never going to be that enjoyable. It’s why it’s important to be selective when and how many you do. Not including parkrun, which is more relaxed and it doesn’t matter is you ease off, I have 4 races of 10k and under in a 19 week period. You’ve just done 3 in 8 days! Perhaps I should have stepped in and said something but often it’s good to learn the hard way. It’s why we do intervals and break down the hard work into smaller chunks. To make it manageable and less horrible. Looking ahead there are a lot of easy runs in the plan. Hopefully that will bring the enjoyment level back. This race was tough, hills, heat, horrible distance. Get that enjoyment back by doing some easier runs and events like The Amble and Rye Ancient Trails 30k are completely different and something to look forward. Don’t be too negative or disappointed in yourself here. Sunday was just a consequence of too many races in a short space of time.
