Warm! 🥵🥵 Only my second time of doing it but love this race. Yes it’s hilly but it’s all manageable, you get just enough time from the start to get comfortable before you get into the first climb and that is broken by a nice flat bit going past the village green. Undulating is how I describe the next bit 🤪 but what goes up must come down eventually and once I got onto the flat bit at the end of mile three I had Simon W in my sights and slowly started to wind him in from about 500 yds. When I did catch him I managed to keep the pace and a bit more and am really happy that. Finished nearly 20 seconds ahead of him and more importantly 7 seconds quicker than last year 😊👍

Brilliant feedback and fantastic running Andy. I found that tougher that last year with the humidity so I think those 7 seconds are probably a bigger gain than you realise. To have that motivation of closing down the person in front is a great approach to racing and keeps the mind focused. It’s amazing what difference it makes when it’s someone you know too. Perhaps a tactic you can employ at future parkruns, even if that person isn’t familiar to you. I feel like you’re running really well at the moment and so consistent too. Rarely do you seem to produce a poor run (famous last words). Great work Andy.
