Post RACE

Completed
I tend to find the first mile or two the most mentally challenging however I found my rhythm and really enjoyed the run. Hot day, ran without stopping, strong finish, would have been happy with 55mins to an hour but managed sub 53 so very happy. Only put a 9 as would be nice to feel confident and comfortable from the start

The question I’d ask in response, was how long was your warm up run? I always encourage the team to do 10 mins WU & CD, they may have mentioned that already. For a race that should be combined with some dynamic stretching and drills, all of this you’ll learn more of if attending the Monday track sessions. So come the start of the race you’re better prepared for those first few miles. For parkrun tomorrow, my whole warm up is likely to take close to 30 mins, 10 mins longer than my actual 5k. Really well done though. It’s a challenging route with the hills all coming in the first 3 miles and the humidity certainly played a part. I think the fact you were able to run the whole way highlights that you start this training plan with a good base of fitness, which is ideal. Onwards and upwards from here.
