I’ve just completed a training plan with Coach Simon. My times were slowing down, I needed to challenge myself and find out whether this was age related or whether I could (if I put some effort in), improve my times.
I’ve never stuck to training plans and can’t even get myself out the door to run some weeks. This all changed under Simon’s watchful eye, expert advise and his continuous support throughout. The 12 week plan was personalised and had the flexibility to change according to my weekly commitments.
My target was the Battle 10k with an aim of the same or a faster time than the previous year. The plan was motivational, challenging and realistic. It held my interest throughout and got me out the door, even when I ‘wasn’t feeling it’!
I had been frustrated with a long term injury, but Simon’s plan took this into account and I was set weekly strength and conditioning exercises which made a noticeable difference.
Even on challenging runs, my legs always felt strong. By the end of the plan I was injury free (I seriously cannot remember being injury free in years) and beat last year’s time by 2 minutes 35 seconds coming first in my age category. Thanks to Coach Simon
