A really good marathon training session and a chance to practice your goal pace without exerting too much energy.

After last weeks session we don’t need to push as hard here. The fact you hit marathon pace last week should mean it feels easy here. If I’m honest, right now the thing which worries me the most is over confidence and going off too fast at London, so really try and dial in that pace here. If you can run sub 4 on the day and feel strong at the end it marks another big improvement. What we don’t want is say running the first half in 1:53 or 1:54 and then really struggling in the 2nd half. So this is a good opportunity to practice the pace and almost slow yourself down a little.

Sorry I didn’t stick to this atal today! I was planning too honest! But I just got carried away ended up meeting different people on route and just ran to how I felt. I literally chatted the whole run and felt comfortable and good. Was under MP for it all. But could of easily carried on at the end. I tried to avoid hills! Most enjoyable run I’ve done in a long time!

No worries. You hit the pace again which is great. So pleased to hear how much you enjoyed it. I did actually drive past you and Chris on the Ridge. All I would say is that it was evident yesterday at Brighton the importance of pacing, once again, so many came unstuck including both my runners who went off too quick. It’s infuriating in truth given how often I go on about it 😂 so whilst it’s brilliant you’ve been quicker than MP in training, on race day it’s imperative to stick with the 4 hour pacers or at the 4 hour pace, otherwise like we saw yesterday, deep into the race things will likely unravel. All that said, another brilliant run Lindsey and in great form at just the right time.
