1 Mile Reps @ 5 Mile Pace (RPE: 8)
3 Mins Recovery
x 5

1.25 Mile CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A challenging session as holding goal pace for 1 mile can be tough, but it builds up your endurance and mental strength.

I’ll be in the park Tuesday morning doing this session if you are free? Perfect training if you were considering the Hastings 5 Miler.

That was hard!!! I’m not sure I overly enjoyed it 🤣 but really pleased I did it. Not happy with my trainers but mainly I felt so unfit!!! Hopefully now the stress is out the way everything will become easier

Normally you probably wouldn’t do a session this tough so early in your plan. It’s one the hardest we do. But with the 5 miler next week, a few of us were doing it anyway so I snuck it in. You hit 5k pace for 5 miles which is bloody brilliant. The one big difference from a session like this and a race is the likelihood you’ll be running in a group or pack for much of the 5 Miler. That really helps reduce perceived effort. So if you can do this pace solo around the park, I think you’ll find it easier on race day. Fantastic running Lou.
