60 Mins Marathon Pace

LOAD: 310

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-3)

60 Mins @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 5)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A chance to get some important marathon paced miles in. Should feel relatively comfortable, but also like you are running with good form.

Didn’t want it all to be easy 😉

I know this was very erratic. Tbh, I find it challenging distinguishing between easy pace and marathon pace, but set off a bit too quick after the warm-up. Felt fairly relaxed still tho, even the faster kms I did, which are not my marathon pace. Glad to get the miles in my legs.

Pacing is a key skill in all distances so these type of sessions are important going forward. The more in tune you can be with your different paces, the better you’ll be able to do with your race strategy. 95% of runners go off too fast in marathons. Even my runners do it, despite all the training and me telling them time and time again to start slowly at target pace. Really good training session though, so well done Ben.
