Rye 10

LOAD: 600

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 5-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

With the hills, I’ve found half marathon pace is the best we can hope for here, but obviously that will fluctuate greatly depending on the section you are on. Dig deep up the hills and focus on good form.

Nice and steady here. Mark is running so you might want to keep him company for a bit. He’s a machine up those hills.

Yes totally kept mark company. He kept telling me to slow down but we didn’t seem to! 🤣 I felt really strong at mile 9 mark was just slipping back on the pace so half a mile from the end I thought I’m going to get Tracy 🤣🤣 I mean she had a head start anyway because I had a poo! But nicely got me a minute pb! Good job I had the porta poo! It’s been 6 years since I’ve been that fast at rye! And I felt really strong! Hence the final sprint!

I love this. Obviously the porta poo adds some humour, but the fact you felt so good. I think sometimes we can forget how good you did last year with your running and this indicates that you’re still in a very good place. Often when training is hard it doesn’t always feel that way, but races like this can be a nice reminder. Congrats on your PB, thank you for helping Mark and also very pleased you pipped Tracy at the line. That made me a smile. A brilliant morning all round.
