Beckley 10K

LOAD: 410

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10k @ 10k Pace (RPE: 6-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Tough race. Don’t panic if your effort level is high early on, that’s the hills, it’s not all up. Try to maintain a consistent RPE throughout and hit the downhills too to make up time. The last km is great, so really dig deep and see how much below your average race pace you can go.

Very excited to see what you can achieve here but without the expectation or pressure of a target time.

There’s no need for that given the nature of this route, no-one is running a PB at Beckley 10K.

If you felt a challenge would help, then perhaps running this a fraction quicker than Battle 10K (1:05:53) would be an excellent achievement and show decent progress, although I think Beckley is a little more challenging personally.

Target achieved, chip time 1.00:53, 10 minutes quicker than last year and 6 minutes faster than Battle. I was 1st in Age category (yes I’ve checked it wasn’t just me in V60😂) so all in all I’m chuffed with my performance today, thanks coach, training is paying off.

What a performance. 6 mins quicker than Battle. Wowzers, that is huge. And to bag the age category win as well. What a comeback this has been. I couldn’t be happier for you. A little emotional in truth given what you’ve been through. You are awesome Sue.
