LOAD: 70

15 Miles @ Goal Pace (RPE: 4-8)

A tough race with some tricky hills at the end. The main decision here is whether it’s going to be an easy long run or a hard race?

Just see this as a long run in a beautiful location. Enjoy the scenery, take your time, ignore the watch. Quite a few of the team are taking this approach so you might see the likes of Lou, Su and Sue. Very best of luck, I really hope the body holds up here.

Well I can safely say that was a first for me, being attended to by medics That was very very tough today. Annoyingly I started off really well. Was making good time, then hit mile 8 and I was really struggling. I could not get my heart rate to calm down and my breathing become really erratic and I was struggling big time. I felt very sick and dizzy and I ended up having to walk a lot of the last third of the race. Then just before mile 13 I went. Blacked out and struggled to get myself going again. The medics didn’t want me to carry on but i was like I’ve only got two miles left. Then said runners are so stubborn 😅. I’m not allowed to take iron at the moment so I’m not able to sort the anaemia out at the moment. I think there plus the heat really didn’t help today. Was the slowest I’ve been for a long time. I thought I was slow last year, I was half an hour slower today!

Yikes, really sorry to hear this. Sounds a scary experience. A tricky one for me to feedback on as that’s really one for the medical experts. But please look after yourself. I said recently with the extra stuff you do, not on the plan, you’re often working harder than anyone else on the team. Definitely don’t compare your times either as there were reasons here for that. Please try and make sure you get enough rest and recovery this week. Your body clearly needs it.
