Love where the fitness is coming into this. I’m not sure it could have gone much better to this point. I think even if you feel strong at 6:30 I’d be inclined to stick to that pace, just so you’re fresh to get straight back into marathon training. Plus it would bank a nice half marathon PB in the process and leave even more room for improvement.

PACE

The race went better than expected. It’s amazing the planning and preparation that goes into getting something right. As you know deliberately trained at 6:20 half marathon pace. So on the day could run 6:30. Went with how I felt on the day. For 11 miles I felt strong confident and calm. The last two were hard (turned into the wind) as you headed home. But I knew the hardwork was done. So stayed tall focused on form and enjoyed the painful push for home. I didn’t actually realise how far under 1:25 I had a gone. But that’s an added bonus! If we go the actual half marathon distance it’s a 1:23:32 🤣

Such a brilliant time and really well deserved for your hard work, not just in this plan but for the past 12 months. It’s so pleasing when it all comes together like this, as there are never any guarantees, but judging by your splits and feedback you ran the perfect race. Superb work Jack!!
