Chichester 10K

LOAD: 410

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10k @ 10k Pace (RPE: 6-9)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A really good race with a strong field. You start by doing one lap of the Goodwood motor circuit which is a lovely surface to run on with plenty of room. You then head onto the local road before returning to the circuit for the final km, finishing in front of the Grandstand.

I think a sub 60 right now might be asking a lot, but I would certainly think a PB is on the cards. You’re in a similar situation to me in that we are both probably not quite able to keep up with the pacers. My approach is to start close to the 40 min pacer (my PB is 40:55 and if I run a really good race I might have a chance) see if I can stick with them for 2km or so, to bank some time, then slowly ease off and let the me pull away a little, so I can save some energy for the last few km. I think a similar approach for you with the 60 min pacers could be the best strategy.

Took your advice and went out with the Pacers, felt strong so I stayed with until we reached the 3K mark, drop off a little but kept them in sight, and slowly closed the gap, would have liked someone to run with on the 7th & 8th K to help me achieve this, caught up the pacers as they returned to the circuit and then push on to the finish

Brilliant. I don’t think I need to write anything else. What a journey you have been on and it just continues to get better. Great to spend time with you over the weekend as well. Thank you for making me happy and proud as well.
