Crowborough 10K

LOAD: 410

Not a race I’ve yet to compete in and judging by the route map and previous runners comments I’m not sure I have ambitions to participate in any hurry. This is a two lap course with one very challenging hill.

That comes around the halfway point of each lap and is best described as brutal. If you’re looking for a 10k PB then look elsewhere, but this could be a very good training run and a nice replacement for a hill session.

As with any race, get there in plenty of time and make sure you do an extensive warm up, including 10 minutes jogging, some dynamic stretches and some running drills. Finish the race with a light cool down jog and some static stretches.

Good luck, you might need it.

Not a race for chasing PBs with a very steep hill, which you have to run twice.

I’ve yet to run this race, but think it would be entertaining for vlog purposes from what I have heard. So you might see me there with my camera. Again no judgements here. Save that for next year when you’re back to peak fitness and smashing out more PBs

If I didn’t think I was going to be letting people down, I wouldn’t have run this today. I woke up in a lot of pain. Really overdid it on the cleaning front yesterday! And all that bending totally fricked with my back. I felt really sick beforehand too but I did it because I would have been annoyed at myself if I didn’t. And I have to say I am glad I did. I actually quite liked the route. Yes the hills were a killer but I think it’s the first route where the down hills seemed longer than the ups! And I was flying down those. It hurts but not as much because I was definitely leaning back more and that seemed to take the pressure off my glutes a bit. I struggled on the hills for sure but considering what Im working with at the moment, I’m ok with how I done.

Well done Kelly. Admirable that you’ve got this done and really hope the short break does the trick as you really deserve some luck with injuries. I still believe there will be a time when everything comes together and you are running at a level way ahead of where you are now. So keep believing that time will come and use it to fuel your motivation. Onwards and upwards.
