Great South Run

LOAD: 58

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10 Miles @ 10 Mile Pace (RPE: 6-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

I’ve heard really positive things about the Great South Run and it’s a race I would love to do one year. The course is very flat and it attracts a strong field with a massive entry list. 10 Miles isn’t a distance we cover very often so it’s important to get the pacing right and not go off too quickly. That’s easily done when running in a big field when lots of those around you will make that same mistake.

First mile was frustrating having to pass runners that should have started further back. Super please every mile under 11min. 3 min faster than 2 years ago. Weather wet . Windy on the sea front. Finish time 1 hr 47. 24 . Best 10 miles since post covid. Cadence ok avg at 170

Really well done Sue. A fantastic time and so pleased you had such a strong and enjoyable race. You deserve it for the hard work. Interesting about the cadence too, as whilst we need to make sure we really celebrate this achievement, it does also highlight there is still room for improvement in that department. But we can always work on that going forward.
