My trusty pace sheet is telling me 9:30 per mile is good here.

The important thing in a race like this is to make sure you don’t get pulled away with the crowds and find yourself running low 9 min miling or even under. Keep an eye on that pace closely for the first 3 or 4 minutes just so you can settle into your own speed.

Really like where you are at with your running now and this should be a fantastic weekend away with friends. Try and enjoy the experience without worrying too much about time.

The targets I set are more there as a guide and hopefully give you confidence and self belief as to what is possible.

I will never be disappointed if a runner doesn’t hit the goal. I’m only disappointed when the effort level is not there without good reason.

Best of luck Klare. Go and smash it.

Gutted this race was cancelled 😞 But did get a long run done with the bimble gang! Wasn’t a speedy one (couple of miles did up the pace) but enjoyable and we managed to miss the bad weather!

Well done Klare, glad you were all still able to get out and run. Having run in the conditions on Sunday I think they did make the right decision. The worst of the weather hit us at 9:30 and it was awful. Hopefully you’ll get the opportunity to put the training to good use over the next few weeks and run a strong race.
