Hastings Half Marathon

13.1 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 5-8)

What a race! Just having the opportunity to take part in this event is a win straight away. The crowds are amazing. Given the route your RPE will fluctuate and be higher early in the race, but don’t worry, if you pace it right, that will drop as you reach the Ridge, so keep digging deep up the hills. You got this 👊

Really pleased you are going to be doing this. I won’t set any targets for this one as the training has been a bit disjointed. The best advice I can give is don’t be afraid to walk some of the hills, even early in the race. This will conserve energy for later on in the race. If you need a few other walking breaks, give yourself 30s and then go again. That’s always a good strategy to adopt. Very best of luck and enjoy.

Bewl water half marathon distance 13.3 miles in 3 hours 6 minutes Tough run but kept going. Pleased with achieving this. Beautiful scenery.

Fantastic work. If you can do the half distance around Bewl on the hills and tricky trails then London Landmarks will feel much easier. A real confidence boost ahead of that race in 2 weeks time.
