XC is hard, but that also means it can be great for improving your fitness if you work at the right intensity.

I think XC has to be the toughest form of running because no matter how hard you try the pace can be someway from that of a road run. So ignore the pace, focus on food form and running at a high effort level. You might just find that results in a quick time.

Muddy and slippery. Felt much more confident in my new trail shoes. Over took 4 runners in the last mile and closing in the one who came just in front of me. Sometimes to slippery to run. 12 mins faster than last XC

Wow. A huge improvement on the last one and so pleased to hear the trainers helped. That’s also a really good sign to overtake so many runners in the last mile and shows you have that strength to keep going whilst others start to falter. Well done Sue. I have the upmost respect for anyone who ran in those conditions yesterday.
