I’m putting full trust in my pace sheet here which is suggesting on current form somewhere around the 2:10 mark would be an excellent time here. I think the most important thing in a race like this is not to go off too fast. It’s so easily down in the crowds. Ideally your last 3 miles will be quicker than your first 3. Plus you also want to have a little bit in reserve to kick on at the end. But I think confidence should be high coming into this. You’ve done way more than the distance at Pier to Pier and you’ve been running much faster at track. I think you’re all set for a really strong and enjoyable race. Best of luck Sue. Go and smash it.

Sorry is all I’ve got to say! I struggled today after 8 miles, can’t even blame the heat. My leg and hip were hurting for the last 6 miles. It just wasn’t my race. Learn and move on.

There’s no need to apologise. You’ve done so bloody well with your running Sue. I couldn’t be more proud. I’ll say this to the group but I think it’s important to emphasise that’s PBs and strong races don’t happen all the time, in fact they are rare. It’s only because there are 50 of us on the team we get a few every week. Mine was my first in 9 months and boy have I had to work bloody hard. So as you’ve put in the feedback, today wasn’t your day. No biggy, we move on, try and learn for next time.
