Poppy Half Marathon

LOAD: 700

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

13.1 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 5-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

If the weather is good then this out and back loop provides an excellent opportunity to run a fast time. Let’s just hope that wind behaves itself.

If the weather forecast is correct and given how well you are running right now I think you could go well here. Obviously things need to go well to run a good half marathon time, but I do think a PB isn’t impossible. I’ve not set that as a target as I know this isn’t a goal race. But I’ve mentioned it purely to let you know the confidence I have in you right now. No real pressure though, just see what happens. Start off around 9:30 pace and see how you feel as the race progresses. Good luck Jo.

Makes if even more impressive right. I’m so pleased, especially after you didn’t quite hit that marathon target. This just shows is you keep the faith and stick to the training the rewards will follow. They don’t always come exactly when we want, but they do arrive eventually. I think you started running around the same time as me? That means 8 years on and 8 years older (sorry to mention that), you’ve just run your quickest ever half marathon. This is amazing. Super proud of you Jo.
