I’ve put a run in tomorrow but adjust accordingly depending on your effort level here and how tired you feel Sunday. If you go hard here, a recovery run tomorrow will be fine. If you trot round here and collect the required points then fine to run for longer on Sunday. Good luck, hoping to come out and watch, for vlog purposes only.

A tough course, especially when not feeling tip top but I managed it all fine. Chest was not working as well as hoped but it worked well enough to not stop me running. It was muddier than last year but I actually found it not that much harder, and struggled less on the uphill sections (walked a few steep bits last year). Probably could have gone a little faster if I had pushed a lot more, but I weighed up how I was feeling, the conditions, and the threat from behind (low: just George ;-)) and decided to just keep it steady. Good to see you at the end, grimacing at me… haha. Happy with 6th, probably didn’t deserve it in fairness as I didn’t push hard.

I’ll let George know you said that. He did say he could see you in the distance and was working hard to catch up, but just couldn’t close the gap. Given the illness you’ve come off, this was a really good effort. Delighted your hard work is going to be rewarded with the age category win. Honestly, these days my runners achievements are more rewarding for me than my own, one of the real great things about being a coach. Well done Sam.
