Not really a race to go chasing a time as pace will be all over the show with the elevation. Instead try and run at a consistent RPE. Probably start around the 4-5 mark, and come the end we want to be working at around an 8. Again with the hills it will fluctuate as that grass field early in the race is a real sod. Very best of luck Sue.

Much preferred this new route. 1hr 4 minutes so no records broken. I would have preferred to get closer to an hour but it didn’t happen. All in all though I was happy with how I ran & how I felt.

It was so much better wasn’t it. I think any race where you stop after 100 metres, it’s important not to worry about the time. Plus those hills early on really sap the energy out of the legs. If the RPE was at the right level then that’s what matters the most going forward. Excellent work Sue.
