Romney 10K

LOAD: 40

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)
8 x 100 metre Strides (RPE: 8)
60s Recoveries

10km @ 10k Pace (RPE: 6-9)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A fast flat course, offering up a good opportunity to run a good time. Try and be consistent with your pace and dig deep in the 2nd half of the race.

My trusty pace sheet is telling me sub 57 is a good target, which equates to around 9:08 per mile if we are being precise. But you know what, there’s a date in the diary for the operation now and fitness will inevitably drop soon, so I don’t want any targets to add pressure. Give it your best shot and if you can hit that pace/time, then brilliant, if not, no worries. Very best of luck Sue.

Target Pace: 9:08 Target Time: 56:50

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

🤬 Way off pace today

PACE

It was hot! I ran at 9:59 pace 1hr 2mins so 5 minutes off target, sorry. Running the whole race on my own and with minimal crowd support made it tougher, but it was the same for everyone.

Never apologize. The heat makes such a difference. I remember that race myself feeling very alone on the quiet country lanes without any support and my mind telling the body to quit. Better runs ahead so just important not to dwell on that and move on. A new medal for the collection is always a positive. Well done Sue. More importantly, how was the school reunion?
