Rye Ancient Trails 15K

LOAD: 500

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

15K @ Target Pace (RPE: 4-8)

A really great event, one of my favourites. And the 15k option is ideal for anyone a little nervous about the full distance. I can highly recommend this.

Just go an enjoy this one. A beautiful route. Chuck in a 10 min WU to add to the mileage if you want. Oh and it’s a recovery week, hence the reduced mileage.

ENJOYMENT

RPE

PACE

Enjoyed that very much. Went off a little quicker than i would have liked as I wanted to avoid waiting for too long at the stiles at the beginning. After 3 km kept a fairly consistent pace throughout the race. I did notice that I seemed to lose ground when going down hill with the competitors around me but generally caught up on the hills. At the end I had a bit of energy in me that made me feel that I could have gone further (but not faster).

Really pleased to hear you enjoyed this Matt and why I was so keen to make sure you did it, having heard you mention on Friday you might give it a miss. It’s a cracking race. The 30k is even better and would strongly recommend it. It’s epic and the trails only get better. These are the short of races to just ignore pace and enjoy the fact we are fit and able to take part in great events like this one.
