My trust pace sheet is telling me 9:30 per mile is about right at the moment for you. The key is making sure you don’t set off quicker than that, even though it should feel relatively comfortable for the first 4 or 5 miles. The hill at 6 miles look pretty brutal and will inevitably slow us down, but then hopefully there will be enough left in the tank to finish strongly.

This was quite a toughie near the end! The hill wasn’t as long as I thought so probably walked too much then when I realised I was off target gave up a little but still happy with my time and a 10 mile PB 😊

Congrats on the PB. The only thing I would say, based on this feedback is change the narrative. So rather than give up if you fall behind pace, use it as fuel to increase your determination. This is how I approached it. I was on pace for 5 miles, then suddenly 70 seconds behind. But that was when I reset the challenge, can I make up those 70 seconds in 3 miles and suddenly pick up my pace? I’m glad to say the answer was yes. Was it easy? God know, I was on my limit, but actually really enjoyed watching my splits and knowing I was getting closer and closer to my target. Anyhow, that’s enough about me 🙄 well done on the PB, that’s a great way to finish the year.
