Felt a bit sore from last 2 days of gym, and didn’t feel like getting out today, but knew I needed it as my job is quite stationary. A very windy seafront run. Was intending to do the whole parkrun route but the wind was so challenging on the way back. Didn’t take it as easy as I should have, but only as I know tomorrow’s parkrun will be run at the pace of my 6 year old! Went out quite fast / was blown along the seafront, so had good quick paces on the first 2km. This has always seemed to be my strategy in runs, go out hard, slow down in the middle and then speed up toward the end again, which may be ok for 5km runs but perhaps not the half. So would be good to try and figure out how to properly pace myself.

1hr leg strengthening all fine. Stairs walking up to the 1st floor in the gym knee started complaining. Gave it 10 mins on the magic stairs before moving over and did 20mins in the cross trainer which was fine. Annoying as it’s the other leg but looking to make some points up Sunday. This was all done Saturday. 😊🍊

Leg felt funny again when first started but then settled down once I had 2k under my belt, tried to keep the heart rate down again and it felt a lot easier this time. Think I’m going to have to manage this leg issue so Heathfield 10k will not be a race but will run it as to how it feels on the day

Horrible hill at 6k so had to walk up that. Did the race on just over 1.01 which was slower than I hoped but I felt quite consistent and didnt suffer with my usual lull at 6 to 8k.

Started off today at Parkrun, but my little one wasn’t feeling it today so we had to turn around at the 1km mark, but I got back and went out again (so I guess that was my warm up!) some hills in this run which I walked and the downhill sections, I went quite fast, as haven’t quite figured out how to run downhill slower. Surprising myself with my consistency, but am wondering if 4 sessions on the bounce is going to get tiresome, and that I swap things around a so easy run Wednesday, GLC Thursday, rest Friday, parkrun Saturday and easy run on Sunday, but then I’m wondering if doing an easy run on a Sunday ahead of a long run Monday is advisable?

Good session. Did my WU very easy then started my watch for the first 5K. Averaged 7’40”/ mile for the first 5K so a bit slower than I’d like but would have been surprised if I could hit my best HM pace first thing. The recovery 2K was a reasonable pace and second 5K was a bit nearer goal pace at first but I slowed down going into a strong breeze on the way back. The third 5K was parkrun and I was close to my aspirational 7’/mile pace. Just shows it’s much easier to run with other people. Overall I was 7’47”/mile for the whole 19K including recovery sections. Not bad. Did 2K easy CD

You owe me two points for yesterday!! Water bottle gate meant my warm up got delayed and I didn’t have a break between that and starting park run! High effort and found it tough, legs hurt a lot by km 4 as in they felt tired and achy and I wanted to stop but remembered they did the same last week and the weather was worse, and I did manage to hold on until the end, so no excuses that I couldn’t do the same again this week. Pleased to run by disappointed I couldn’t get low 28mins – not sure I’ll ever get back to where I was, 28 used to feel relatively easy but not any more Xxx

Good run out but didn’t realise I had the wind behind me!! It was tough coming back! Good effort though, pushed when I felt tired. Bit disappointed with time but that was down to the wind. I should have evened out my pace better and not think I could hang onto an unrealistic pace at the start!
