Last big one before Brighton. And we’ve got plenty of marathon paces sessions over the next few weeks during the taper. Can’t believe we are this close already. But you’ve smashed it so far. Just need to apply the finishing touches now.

A good session to mix up paces. WU & CD very important to slowly build the pace. A flat route is ideal here if you can.

Wasn’t concentrating so did 6ish @MP and 4ish @HMP soz. But I do really need to practice MP anyway because I am so bad at it 😁
Plus you ran extra yesterday as well (is he still going on about that?). All good. Pretty much the same thing really and still adds up to 33pts (just). nice way to start the week and get the one ticked off.

Ignore Strava, definitely didn’t do a 90 minute workout – a good 20 mins of this was looking for lambs in the barn next to my gym (country life innit)
Great work Lucy. I tried country life once, didn’t end well, turns out I was allergic to horses. My skin is bad enough at the best of times but when my bedroom was a few feet from their stables I woke up with my skin on fire and bright red every morning. Not to mention the cockerel that used to wait on the farm gate for me to arrive home everyday and attack me. It even got into my car once and was pecking at my ankles. I used to drive along the lane shitting myself in case he was sitting on the gate ready to pounce. 😂

I knew this was going to be hard because my feet were sore from the stupid treadmill and I’ve been sleeping badly and my HRV is low and it was SO. HARD. Legs are fine but both feet hurting and stomach was a mess. But got it done! Thank fuck for that! Actually misjudged the route and went a bit over in fact. Time to book back in with podiatrist and have a lovely lovely taper
Sorry to hear you struggled with your feet but from a positive point of view we are exactly where we want you to be at this stage of the plan in terms of the fitness levels. And now we have the taper to come which will hopefully make a big difference. I think we should celebrate that the plan has gone so well, given the doubts there were at the start. I’m really happy and have been so impressed with your commitment. Awesome work Lucy!! Rest up if you can.

See how you fair with this session for now and we can always make some changes. It’s a strong all round workout that covers all fundamental movement patterns along with all the key muscle groups. If there is any area you feel is particularly weak and needs work I can add different exercises in. I like to keep the S&C simple and those that have stuck to their routines and not made continual changes have made real progress.

So yesterday I read your notes on next week’s plan about tapering properly and not running too much and nodded along sagely agreeing with everything you said and then I woke up this morning and completely and wholeheartedly ignored everything you said
😂 To be fair it was a beautiful day out there. If you’d gone out and run for 90 mins I’d have been pissed off. But a short run, not a problem. 107% for the week so just within under the red line, so all is good. Hope hubby had a fun birthday.
