Week Commencing: 13 July 26

I feel like you’re executing (my new favourite word) the sessions really well right now. And that’s even more important when only 3 times per week. But we’ve got everything we need here. The speed work, long run, easy run and S&C. Only 103pts on the table as a it’s recovery week, but that’s still enough to make gains with your average to date at 99! So keep up the great work Iain. Smashing it right now. Any problems let me know.

Zone 2: Easy

If you have accurate heart rate data that is far and away the best guide for this run. Stay in Zone 2 if you can.

Completed, busy week so had to do it today (Monday) despite legs being tired. 1 hour 4 secs 6.13 miles
Well done for finding time to fit it in. Sometimes running on tired legs is a good thing, as we will certainly experience that in marathon training.

Easy Pace

Try and hit a pace somewhere in Zone 5: 10k. If the route is not flat you can focus on heart rate instead and try to avoid drifting into Zone 6. This should feel comfortably hard.

Completed on treadmill. Hard but manageable Right knee ok
Really pleased the knee is ok. It’s rare in a marathon block that something doesn’t moan at some stage, so just monitoring these niggles is the best approach. Also glad you found this hard. That’s always the idea with the sessions and if you ever come out of one thinking that was easy, you know you didn’t quite get it right. Awesome work Iain.

Zone 2

All about time on feet. Don’t focus on pace. Instead keep that effort level down and concentrate on good running economy. Fuelling and hydration key too.

Completed. Good run 16 miles 2 hrs 31 mins 32 secs
Fantastic run, apologies I made a mistake with the admin section and so this feedback was originally incorrect. I feel you deserve a lot more credit for this run than just a thumbs up. Will message you just to confirm this has been updated correctly. Awesome work Iain.
