I’ve tweaked the week in the hope that if we keep it easy, then perhaps, just perhaps, it will be enough to dampen the foot pain, heading into some key weeks of training. Perhaps, if you have some, wear some more stable shoes for the easy runs, that may help. But on this schedule it will mean no speed work for a couple of weeks, which fingers crossed may really help 🤞 If the foot pain goes sooner, then we can potentially add some speed in this week if you like.

Zone 2-3: Easy/Steady

Likely your heart rate will climb as you run up the hills, so don’t worry too much about drifting into Zone 3 for the hills, try and keep the rest in Zone 2.

Minimal pain on the flat, 2/10 on the hills and afterwards is when it hurts the most 😟 I will keep rolling and stretching etc just worried as this is after 3 days rest. It’s bearable I’ll see how it goes this week! Otherwise, a good easy run with low HR.
Well done Jodie. Good stats for the easy run. It’s a tricky one for me when it comes to niggles and just a case of listening to the body. I don’t feel like we’ve over trained in terms of mileage, but as you say, it might be an issue which had carried through from the previous marathon block. Be careful.

Zone 2: Easy

If you have accurate heart rate data that is far and away the best guide for this run. Stay in Zone 2 if you can.

Skipped it could barely walk on my foot in the morning but it keep improve throughout the day but thought it too risky. Will give it a go Saturday and see how I get on.
Only decision to skip it, that doesn’t sound right about the foot this morning, sounds like something is up and worth getting checked out. Hope it’s improved since 🤞

I’ve added in a few exercises so we cover all the fundamental movement patterns (push, pull, squat, lunge, rotate, hinge) and calf raises were the key running exercise that was missing.

Good session as usual. Couldn’t do calf raises but done leg curls as a substitute
Well done Jodie. Sensible to leave out the calf raises if they cause the foot pain. Great work!!
