  • January 19th - 25th

Hopefully this fits in ok with the trip. I’ve put Gym S&C and the Magic Stairs instead of circuits again this week. You could tweak the weekend as well depending what’s available in Tenerife. Perhaps some more cross training again rather than smashing out a 90 min long run in the heat. Either way I hope you have a fantastic time and safe travels.

Forgot to weekly feed back!

What, you forgot weekly feedback whilst out celebrating your 40th birthday on holiday. You have all your priorities wrong 😂 Given the travel at trip, another strong week. Awesome work Lou.

31pts | 8-3-3-2-3-3-8 Mins

31 POINTS

Recoveries:
8 Mins – 120 Seconds
3 Mins & 2 Mins – 90 Seconds

Tough session this and the idea is to try and keep those 8 minute reps consistently at 5k pace. The first one will feel comfortable, but the last one will feel like hell. The middle part of the session is to inject some speed in the legs and induce fatigue and possibly some lactic, so you have to work hard in that final rep.

10pts | Body Combat

10 POINTS

30-45 Mins @ Varied RPE

A good mix of cardio and strength work. Can be a fun session! Have a good one 🥊😁

No points deduction for me! 😆 I feel strong doing 3 mins. At 8 min miling. Tried to hold my pace on the last 8 mins but I did need a wee and I was tired. Body combat was same old 🤣will miss it next week. In the last week at Bannatynes I dropped my air pod in the stair master got it out only to lose my air pods at the gym on Friday and today my band stopped working. I’m a menace
Great track session Lou and well done on the WU & CD too. I don’t get airpods, the risk of them falling out would just stress me out. Give me a big pair of over the air headphones any day. Great way to start the new week Lou.

12pts | 20 Mins Stair Climber

12 POINTS

A great form of cross trainer for us runners. Take a few minutes to warm up at find your stride but then push hard. You can real bang for your buck with just 20 mins on the stair climber. I hit around level 10 when doing these but find the right speed for you that you can maintain, but you find this tough.

15pts | Gym Workout (S&C)

15 POINTS

Keep the gym stuff simply and always ensure any changes are small.

Hit the gym at the wrong time again. People everywhere! So I had to do 30 mins then the stepper then another 30 min New pb 93 floors
Great work Lou. Ah the gym at the wrong time is awful right. Good idea to jump on the Stair Climber as soon as it became available. Well done on your PB. That 100 flights is a realistic target now, but don’t be in a hurry to get there.

22pts | 60 Mins & Strides

22 POINTS

Keep the RPE down, have a chit chat & Don’t forget those strides 😜

Didn’t worry so much about pace tonight was having a chat about how we aren’t feeling the love for Hastings runners and the committee with Cassie. I said I feel like we are a captainless ship. I did say I’ll feel better when walk to run is back as that’s always really positive. Cassie might come and help this year. Did 8 strides! 4 were racing Nick. Lindsey said she’d do some with me and then Nick said I can beat Lindsey. I said come on then! Well …. He wasn’t expecting to struggle to keep with me 😆 he actually said you are fast and I don’t mean that as a joke! I took that as a compliment ☺️
Ah that is nice to hear that. You’ve always had that turn of speed so not surprised he was impressed. I think the committee need to be careful and not make decisions based purely on what suits them. That appears to be their approach at the moment. I’m trying to waste as little time as possible although Ash’s lack of marshalling last year has been discussed in our house today. Neither him or Jess have ever volunteered at parkrun 🤐 Well done on your run though. If I don’t speak to you before safe travels.

Rest Day

Was climbing the walls so did 30 min s&c found a balanced work out on one of my old weeks
🤯 No worries. Well done for completing. I’m hoping you read this, as I realise certain things have upset you. Take some time, enjoy the holiday, but please rethink your decision about Team Orange. Cos between us we are going to fucking smash 2026 if you follow the same routine you have been. And I really want to be part of that journey. I can say this now, I might not be the best coach in the world, and still learning, but you will never find anyone else who gives as much of a shit about both your fitness and your wellbeing as me. Apologies for swearing twice in this message. I rarely do that. Let’s throw in a third for good luck. Fuck!!

27pts | 90 Mins Run

27 POINTS

90 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Keep this nice and easy. Focus on good form & efficient running economy. RPE should be around the 3/10 which means you can run and chat.

Only managed 60 but did 4 hill strides with Paul! There is photographic evidence 🤣 Think I’m ok for points because I got some for s&c
Well done Lou. Hill strides looked fun. I’m pretty sure you will be fine for pts, plus you have plenty banked from previous weeks. Will be checking the weekly feedback soon. Monday’s are manic. The 100% club is one of the best ideas I’ve ever had but the consequence now is everyone leaves feedback all the time, hence Monday is manic 😂 But I like it that way.
