You want to be like Scrappy Do this week. Keen to train, but held back, so once we let you off the leash next week you’re fresh and raring to go and push on for the key part of this plan. “Rest Days are Training Days” is a good quote.

6 days rest and a very easy park run.

Really enjoyed the rest but later in the week was really thinking about running and wanting to get back out there.

Now time to pull up those big boy socks and give it some.

Let’s Go!!! And there’s the reason a rest week can help so much as it leaves you eager to run again, rather than constantly feeling on the edge and tired.

Rest day 1 complete. Lunch time walk with a mate. Normal dad duties and now sat watching Liverpool play. Questions I forgot to respond to: 1. Nathan from Yaxley won a comp in Runners World hence the write up. He’s a nice bloke. 2. Yesterday I watched the new Captain America (pretty good) and then Thunderbolt, another Marvel film (not as good but okay)
Ah yes we watched Thunderbolts recently and enjoyed it. Jax struggles to stay away watching films so we tend to go with Series where the episodes are only 45 mins long. So much good stuff on TV right now. Glad you were able to get out and stay sociable.

Rest day 3 complete. You were right, the body has started to get a little stiff. Lunch time walk with a mate and then walked the dog to collect Pops from school.
It does happen, if you really start to feel uncomfortable, chuck in 30 mins easy.

Rest day 4 complete. Weather has been awful so no walking today. Nothing exciting to report but I am getting ready to run again LOL.
As I mentioned last week we want you to come to the end of the week desperate to run again and time off makes you appreciate how much we do enjoy the running.

Rest day 5 complete. Work in the morning then watched a film called Frozen ground with Mavis in the afternoon. Dog walk in the evening.
You do love your movies. We saw The Housemaid at the cinema Thursday. Really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend if you need to fill some time at the weekend.

“Easy means Easy! Not 5k pace, not 10k pace, not even marathon pace. Easy pace!! 😉”

Save those legs for the bigger sessions and enjoy running comfortably among the pack.

Thank you.

Quite possibly the highest training readiness I’ve ever had. It progressively got higher through out the week. Very easy park run with a slight progression as I chatted away with a work friend. Now apparently we are going sofa shopping… Shoot me now!!
😂 That does sounds pretty awful. Jax keeps mentioning new sofa and new bed, and I try to change the subject without making it too obvious. Glad to hear you are feeling fresh. Well done on the parkrun and thanks for keeping the pace super easy

Lazy morning in bed followed by a dog walk. Replaced the outside security light. Now to tidy the garage, have tea, get Pops to sleep and finish “Condor”
“His and Hers” probably had one of the biggest twists I’ve ever witnessed in a crime drama. Never saw that coming. Hope the conclusion of Condor was good?
