So Sunday I’ve put 60 mins but basically it’s the Bewl 5 Miler but that will be best treated as an easy run. For Brands Hatch just see how things progress as the weeks goes on. If Romney Marsh is still more of a priority then it would be silly to jeopardise that by overdoing things this week. I’ve made the target a little lower and taken out track just to give you more recovery time.

Nice and easy. Smile, relax and enjoy. Love life!

First half of this I was in so much pain so tried to slow it down even more and then the last 1k it felt uncomfortable but no where near as bad.
Still doesn’t sound right though. Almost to the point worth investing some cash into getting it checked it out by a physio perhaps? Maybe give it another week before doing that 🤔

Zone 2: Easy

If you have accurate heart rate data that is far and away the best guide for this run. Stay in Zone 2 if you can.

Done a bike and a swim tonight as I didn’t want to face the run. I feel like I should give it more time to sort itself out as it’s painful within the first step of trying to run. I’m trying to keep as active as I can without running to try not lose as much pace and fitness from not running
Our heart doesn’t know if we are running, walking, swimming or cycling, so if it’s working at the right level, regardless of the form of exercise we are still getting the same benefit aerobically. So all this is good stuff for the fitness. You got more pts today than had you done 60 mins easy run. Obviously the draw back is the lack of conditioning, not using our muscles or tendons in the same way as running, but if we can’t run, this is a great alternative, something I have and other members of the team have utilised to great effect to stay fit whilst injured. Great job Shain.

Control what you can. The warm up, strides, getting the early pace right and staying positive when it gets tough. You got this!!

First 1k in pain but pushed through and then the leg settled down a a lot, making it manageable for the rest of the event. Running at a faster pace it is much more easier for me and a lot less painful for some reason. Didn’t give it my all for the obvious reason of the injury but a very enjoyable run nonetheless and even done the cool down with my dad for his last lap
Glad the leg settled down a bit and the faster past will result in less ground contact and a lighter impact, so it kinda makes sense it will hurt less. Nice to be able to run back for your dad as well. Apart from that 1km sounds like a nice evening out. Great work Shain.

1:20 on the bike and covered 36k in that time then done a 32 minute easy run where the leg felt uncomfortable but didn’t hurt!. Hoping it is a sign of recovery doing well
Nice, again great to be able to use the bike to keep the aerobic fitness there, and to be able to run as well, bonus. Sounds like things are improving, now we just need to stay patient and smart. A decent week in the end. Well done Shain.
