Just a “nice” week. One good speed session, a quick parkrun, then a moderate Sunday run. When you include the strides as well, that’s loads of good quick efforts too, which will definitely help with your form and also activate those lazy fast twitch fibres that will all have but don’t call upon enough. Any problems just shout. The next few weeks look kind with parkrun doing the roll of high efforts, so tick this one off and it should be a good christmas period. Keep up the great work Andy

Bounced back from rough start to week and managed to get the sessions done. Pleased with this and feel good as a result! Enjoyed all sessions too and starting to feel a bit stronger.

Bank that feeling. It’s good right? That’s why we do these plans and work hard because that sense of achievement and self pride is such a positive thing. I’m really pleased Andy, keep ticking off weeks like this and before you know it you’ll be back in peak fitness.

Recoveries:
100 & 200m: 60 Seconds
400m: 90 Seconds
800m: 120 Seconds

A good session to do on the track. Really work hard during these reps to try and hit those targets. To get faster over 5k we need to train quicker in sessions like this. Perhaps start at the first bend so the 400s & 800s will begin at the start line. Go get ’em!!

Very hard and off pace again. Fitness seems to have fallen off a cliff. Understandable though considering i havent done that much training. Wouldn’t mind revising the pace targets to be a bit more achievable for now. Think it might help me to stop going off too fast then dying part way through – Felt like this on the 800’s. Pleased i got it done though and felt good after. Struggled with bad cold over the weekend/start of this week, hence didnt get long run done and did this run today instead of yesterday. Still want to try do 100% this week though as i know i need to get back into it urgently and get fitter, so moved some sessions around.
I’ll drop you a message about pace targets and always happy to change them. Really well done for getting out there in tough conditions to smash this off and great to hear the motivation is still there. It can be a tricky time of year with illness and the weather, but if you can stick to the plan as close as possible it will be worth it when the spring rolls around. Well done Andy.

Keep the 40 mins easy and don’t forget those strides. Without them you won’t improve and will fall short of your weekly targets.

Enjoyed run club and made it up to 40mins. A little quick but went well. Strides were hard but not too far off target. Pleased with today
Well done Andy, every time you complete a session on the schedule, whether it be 30 mins easy or a big marathon session you should give yourself that pat on the back and be pleased with your efforts, especially if it means doing that bit extra to those you run with.

30pts | parkrun & Strides

parkrun is the best!!! Every Saturday at 9am. A great opportunity to push our effort levels and run alongside other people. Make sure you get there nice and early for your WU & Strides. I normally aim for 8:15 to give myself plenty of time.

Enjoyed parkrun and worked super hard, was a tough route though but happy to be under 30mins again. Managed to get there early to do WU and strides, and had a CD after. Did some light stretching excerises at home, from YouTube in the afternoon
An excellent day and another strong parkrun time. Getting nice consistency again which is great. Awesome work Andy.

Entered the 10k race but ran it at steady pace and really enjoyed it. Aimed for 70mins, which gave Sarah a good target to aim for by keeping me in sight. And she did really well too. Did 25min run before the race to total 95mins.
Fabulous. A really good idea to include the race as part of the training run. And Sarah was pleased with her run, which clearly you played a big part in. Overall a really productive day and some bonus pts for the additional 5 mins 😁👊
