I’ve you marked as away from Monday – Friday? I know it’s been a disrupted period but the fact you’re still running well off the back of this is what matters. Hopefully things will settle down a bit after this week ๐Ÿคž Keep going Jan! If you can get anything done Mon-Fri let me know and I can add it in.

Zone 2: Easy

A good chance to work on your 5k pace. If you can hit the quicker end of zone 6, then perfect. Don’t go too fast though, especially in the early reps.

Swapped pilates to a morning session to fit in Track this evening as explained in schedule changes. A good session with a focus on shoulder mobility, balance (with bricks) and core strength. Happy with track session. Really enjoyed track – 5 x 4 mins at 5k pace with a 90 second rest. I managed to maintain my 5k pace and didn’t feel particularly fatigued following yesterday’s run and this mornings pilates. We ended with one 50 metres sprint. I did the 10 mins warm up and cool down but didn’t record it so as not to mess up the stas too much. Achilles easing off, just right/stiffness around the heels.
Fabulous start the week. Great work Jan. Really pleased you were able to squeeze in track this week. Lou and Sue deliver a good session when they coach it. Hitting a nice pace too which is great, and glad it felt reasonably comfortable. I’ve switched up the schedule and hope the achilles continues to ease off. If you need to make anymore changes later in the week just drop me a message.

Zone 2: Easy

Keep the effort level down on these easy runs and focus on good running mechanics.

I really look forward to my runs these days and once I’m finished, I’m looking forward to the next one – long may it continue ๐ŸคžVery hot tonight but manageable and relatively comfortable. I checked my heart rate on and off throughout and it didn’t go above 150 but it’s recording on Strava as 191 or 192 as being my maximum?? Hopefully just bum information! I ran 6 miles tonight not 4.61 I forgot to restart my watch after pausing it โ˜น๏ธApart from tight/bruised feeling in my heels no other niggles.
So pleased you feel that way. Since reducing the number of times I run, I must admit I am very similar. Yeah I did see your Strava and wondered what you had been up to “wow Jan ran fast tonight” was my first impression. I think even having some awareness of HR can help, even if you don’t solely rely on it for runs. Great work Jan. Keep smiling ๐Ÿ˜

This should be a good all round workout which will hopefully help with you keep those niggles at bay. The idea being we can slowly add to these. Those doing the best with their strength are the ones who keep it simple and consistent, week in week out.

If time is ever an issue. You can do some supersets. What is a superset? It means combined 2 exercises together, ideally ones that are different.

For example you might do 1 set of Bent Knee Calf Raises, and rather than just twiddle your thumbs for 60 seconds before doing the next set, you do a wall sit inbetween.
