Progress can be very subtle sometimes. But we’ve not hit many 115pts weeks in this plan, now we have 4 on the spin. If they go well, at the end of that period you should be fitter than ever before. So a nice block of training here to take you to a new level. Any issues let me know. But keep up the great work Chrissie. Speaking of the plan I don’t have any races on the schedule for the next 4 weeks, including the Barry Richards, is that a race you hope to do. It’s the 6th August I believe.

Zone: 2 Easy

It all depends on the nature of the session as to how hard you want to work. The longer the reps, the slightly slower the pace will be. Or if doing hills, focus on RPE rather than pace. But you always want to be working hard to ensure you make the necessary gains.

Well that was hotter than I thought it would be πŸ€ͺ Legs still little achy from Saturday but I think I gave it a good go
Awesome work. Pace looks great on Strava. Tough session in truth and I’m feeling it today. But we gave it our best shot and that’s all we can ever ask. Well done Chrissie

Hopefully you can smash this out in 20 mins. If you pair some of the exercises together. So for example do the seated calf raises and then rather than sit around for 60s waited for the next set, do a plank and then switch back to the Bent Knee Calf Raises. This is referred to as supersets in the gym world.

Great work Chrissie. I’m wrecked today πŸ˜‚

A good way to boost cardio whilst reducing the risk of injury. The elliptical can tone muscles and improve endurance whilst being gentle on your joints.

A great form of cross trainer for us runners. Keep that heart rate in Zone 2. You might feel like RPE is higher, as it’s a tough exercise, but a good opportunity to really improve your aerobic engine without the heavy impact of running.

8 x 100 Meter Strides

Zone 7: 3K

If you have an accurate heart rate, then use that as your main data to determine pace, if not RPE is the best option. Hills are always going to cause them to go too high, unless you are super fit. Finish off with some strides.

25 mins in the morning just because would have been short on time in the evening, completed 35 mins and strides in evening Signed up to mount ephraim 10k and kings head canter 5k Can’t do Barry Richard’s 10k with it being on a Thursday doesn’t work for me as Kian has basketball WhatsApp would you recommend in terms of runs races? Don’t want to get injured
Awesome work Chrissie. Of course. Thursdays. Nae bother. I’ve entered the Mountain race (it’s not up a mountain, I checked). Kings Head Canter will fall in the next plan so that would probably be the time to start looking at which races we can use to continue to build fitness.
