This is one my favourite half marathon sessions. Hopefully goal pace will feel comfortable, until those last 3-4 reps when you’ll need to work hard. If it goes well this will give you a big confidence boost for race day, knowing the pace is achievable.

Done. Hope you don’t mind but after 1st 3km at HM pace, I grouped Kms into 2 with a 3 mins rest (very easy pace). I felt like this would help me pace better as sometimes, if it’s only 1km my instinct is to go too fast! Generally felt good but, as you said, last 2-4km was a bit of a slog
That’s cool, good way of saving time as well. The main purpose of this is to dial in the pace but also give you that confidence, that actually, it’s not that quick. But year on race day we need to make sure the first few kms are not too fast otherwise we will of course run into big trouble come the 15km point. Great work though Ben.

I think this will be a nice addition to you training, to do these with others. Well done Ben.

Try and hit a pace somewhere in Zone 5: 10k. If the route is not flat you can focus on heart rate instead and try to avoid drifting into Zone 6. This should feel comfortably hard.

Slowly adding time to your longer runs is the way forward. Keep the effort level down and continue to check in with your form.

Nicely done Ben. Do you know your max heart rate? Not essential if you have no interest if worrying about HR, but looking at the pace as well I question if this was a little spicy for Z2. From the max HR I can create zones for you, just gives you a decent idea if you are working at the correct intensity.
