Great session. Shame about the homeless drug addicts in the shelter.
Started at 20 minute parkrun pace but by the end of the 8 x 2’ my average was 6’13”/mile without pushing hard at all.
The 45” recovery was plenty but on the 8 x1’ I pushed a little harder and was still gasping a little and heart pumping when we started again. I know this was intentional. Was averaging around 5’40’/mile for this bit. Was delighted with my pace and energy, then I got home and saw that Louis had been doing 2K repeats at HMP and that means 5’15’/mile…. Obviously I’m not comparing myself with him. Just very impressed.
46% zone 4 and 35% zone 5. Good for me to get into zone 5 more than usual
Just glad they didn’t give us any hassle. Really impressed with your execution there and something I’m learning is about manipulating pace and recoveries between reps to change the sessions slightly. I’ve noticed a bit difference doing that with my own running in recent weeks and why I wanted to implement that for the group. So impressed with how well you did. Louis is incredible. What a runner. What a story. Just hope he doesn’t overdo it. He did 5 hard effort sessions (5k pace or quicker) in a 10 day spell recently which is bonkers. But he has a coach so I have to leave them to it. Right now it’s clearly working and hopefully he can avoid any injury issues. But I would pretending if I wasn’t worried.
